Causal Mediation Analysis
Instead of only assessing the overall causal effect of a treatment variable on an outcome variable of interest, causal mediation analysis delves deeper by posing a "how" inquiry, investigating the underlying mechanisms through which the treatment influences the outcome. Due to this conceptually invaluable focus, it has gained significant popularity in many fields of science including social science, economics, and epidemiology.
